What to Wear — Tracht Guide

## Lederhosen (for men)
- Short or knee-length leather trousers
- Checkered or plain shirt (usually blue or white)
- Haferl shoes (traditional leather shoes) — NOT sneakers
- Loferl socks with separate calf band
- Optional: Charivari chain, felt hat

## Dirndl (for women)
- Dress with apron
- Blouse (push-up neckline is traditional, not required)
- **Bow placement matters**: Left = single, right = taken, front = child, back = widow
- Comfortable shoes — you'll stand for hours

## Where to get Tracht
- **Buy**: €150–400 for quality pieces at Bavaria Crafts
- **Rent**: €49–59 for 3-day package from Münchner Tracht Verleih
- **Avoid**: Cheap costumes from non-Bavarian sellers — locals can tell

## Weather tips
September/October in Munich: 10–20°C. Bring a jacket for evening. Lederhosen are surprisingly warm.
